Thomas Schmidt

Tom Schmidt, Certified Family Business Specialist, CFBS, C.L.T.C., LACP, is the president of Thomas A. Schmidt & Associates, Inc., an insurance and financial services agency established in 1988.  His firm specializes in Employee Benefits, Long Term Care, Business Succession, Retirement and Estate Planning for businesses and individuals.  He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 1982.  He is also a lifetime member of the Kansas State University Alumni Association, Lambda Chi Alpha Social Fraternity, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, Crossings Community Church and a Lifetime Member of the National Eagle Scout Association.  He has served as a special advisor on the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council.  He was also named the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Businessman of the Year.  In 2004, he was named a Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Winner for distinguishing himself as an outstanding business leader. He has been a member of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) since 1988 and is also a Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).  He is currently serving on the Gives Day committee for the MDRT Foundation.  He is also a Soaring Eagle member of the Leading Producer’s Roundtable with the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). He is a Charter Member of NAIFA’s first Day on the Hill, has served as President of the OKC NAIFA chapter and was selected as the 2005 Oklahoma City Financial Advisor of the Year.  Tom has been involved with Boy Scouting since the age of eight and has served in many capacities including Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, and the Baden Powell District Committee in the Last Frontier Council Boy Scouts of America.  He has been awarded the Celtic Cross, Cubmaster of the Year and the Scoutmaster Award of Merit for his service to youth.

Tom enjoys spending time with his wife, Terri, and their son Michael.
